Fitness is both a career and a hobby for Kristen. Her passion for health and fitness started six years ago when she began taking Corpbasics’ classes. In 2006 she signed up for the Corpbasics teacher certification class. She had no intentions of becoming a fitness instructor. Her only goal in taking the course was to improve her own workouts. Not but a month later she taught her first class, Cardio KIX, in downtown Boston. About a year after that she became a Certified Personal Trainer. In 2007, she left her job in telecommunications to pursue a full-time career in fitness. In addition to the CBC Fitness Club, Kristen also teaches classes for the YMCA. When she is not teaching or training, Kristen is blogging about health and fitness for the Somerville Patch as well as on her fitness blog, befitwithkristen.com.
Kristen is certified through the Corpbasics’ Fitness System as a Group Fitness Instructor, which is an ACE accredited course. She is also a Corpbasics’ Certified Personal Trainer. In addition to her Corpbasics’ certifications, she is a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Kristen also has a Group Fitness Certification through the Aerobics and Fitness Association (AFAA) of America, is Spin® certified and CPE/AED certified.
